January ~ BookClub

Its a NEW year and a NEW book for this month’s BookClub – Our very first BookClub of the year!!! WooHoo!! 😀 <3

This month we will be reading The Pilgrim’s Progress! This is one of my all time FAVORITE books! I especially love Part II Christiana! There are many versions of this book. So don’t worry about having the same exact as shown!

As I have already said this is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE book(s). I simply LOVE The Pilgrim’s Progress. I have personally learned a lot about how we are to walk, and even getting to understand some of the tactics of the enemy (part 2 when Christina is going through the Valley of the Shadow of Death man that will preach).

Right now in our current world, I think it is a great time if you have not read it to read it. If you have read it to read it again! You will see so many things that will encourage you though this season in our world.

This book does NOT replace the Bible, but it does give us a window into how to view the christian walk and to remember that everything we go through is making us stronger for the next thing we are going to go through. Like that famous quote my pastor used to say “If you are not in a trial, you are heading into one.” Everyone walks a different path – yet we are all on the same road. Our choices, fears, fleshly traps, and faith is what helps us to walk and finish strong or to flounder and make the path harder than it needs to be!

Truth is, life is HARD. We all have problems, we all face issues – I love that when I’m walking in faith and I came to an area in my life, I can say “I’m in the slew of despondency” or the “valley of death” or the “dungeon of despair” and when I recognize where I’m at in my thinking or in my trial it makes it far easier to remember what Christiana and her companions did and pray, praise, and look to the light which is Jesus Christ, and the cross!!!

The LORD will often times bring scriptures to my mind and I can walk out of the situation stronger – and with better understanding of how to not fall back into that trap. But let’s face it sometimes we don’t always learn! But we are always moving forward because time is moving us forward towards heaven and sanctification – the question is are you going to grow up and be more like Christ here on earth or are you going to remain an infant and not grow up! <3

I also LOVE the audio drama version – I used to listen to it just about every night for years. It was that or Revelation! Yes, I know! I was not a normal kid! 😉
