“Let There Be Light”
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth… Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.”
— Genesis 1:1, 3-4
There are moments in life when we need to be reminded: God is Light.
Sometimes, even in broad daylight, storms roll in and we’re forced to drive with our headlights on. Why? Because light cuts through darkness. It helps us see what’s ahead.
Even as believers, there are times we must ask God to shine His light on our lives—or on a situation we can’t make sense of. Thankfully, we serve a God who is not only willing, but eager to give us His light.
“In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it… He is the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.”
— John 1:4-5, 9
When we believe in Jesus, we receive eternal life and step into that Light. But even after believing, we sometimes end up walking a season that David called “the valley of the shadow of death” when we are walking through a season like that we know we can hold fast to Him—the Light we need when everything feels dim.
Throttle Thought:
You don’t have to drive through the storms of life with your headlights off. You can ask the Lord and He will give you light for the journey!
Reflection:
Are you navigating a storm right now with dim or no headlights? What would it feel like to simply see the next step in front of you, lit by the Light of Christ?
Prayer:
Jesus,
You are the Light of life. Please shine Your truth and peace on my heart today. Light up the path I’m walking and give me eyes to see what You see. Thank You for never leaving me alone in the dark. Help me to live in Your Light and trust Your guidance—especially in life’s storms.
Amen!
